Bringing a new car to Puerto Peñasco

We are planning to spend the month of February down there. We bought a new car yesterday, so if we take that car down there it will have only temporary plates and new real registration, just the sales contract (no financing).

Here's the problem: This time, we won't be taking the motor home down there. We will be driving the car itself. Last year we had to show the Mexican border people the registration on the motor home, presumably so they could see that it's ours and had no lien on it, but we have never had to show paperwork on toads before.

Anybody had any experience driving a newly purchased vehicle down there?

We can always take the old Explorer down there this time, but it would be nice to get 40+ MPG rather than 15-17 for the 2,800 mile round trip.

Thanks for any insight.

Not true at all
You can bring your new car here as long as the registration is correct a temporary plate is valid in the free zone.
