I depend on getting to my medical hoo-hah crossing the border so I am forced to keep an eye on development.
We call them "caravanistas" nine out of ten are unattached young males.
Trump's actions would only occur if the group tried to swarm the system. And then no way on the face of the earth would closing the border longer than several hours be feasible.
Can you imagine empty produce sections in USA grocery stores? ๐
I have been watching news and reading newspapers. Tijuana's mayor got coopertion from the Mexican government. If there is violence or an uproar to cross the border, Mexico is prepared to arrest then send en masse, everyone back to their home country on transport planes. They have already sent more than a hundred back so it isn't an empty threat. This does not include families just the unaccompanied males.
Mexico simply will not put up with a disruption grave enough to close the border for more than an hour or two. There is too much at stake.
A closure may affect one of my doctor appointments.
So please tamp down unwarranted fears. They are not justified. ๐
