LOL, that road seems to ALWAYS be under construction! I can remember when I was a kid back in the 60s and got my drivers license, one of the first places my Dad let me drive was on the "new" sections of I-40 when we went from Birmingham to Little Rock to visit my grandparents. We watched 'em build that interstate and in the places it wasn't built, we had to get off on US 70. That road is still there, so it might be an alternative to I-40 since it parallels the interstate.
