We're planning a trip from CT to the Great Lakes in July. 1st stop is Erie, PA. Taking Rt 84 out of CT. My Good Sam GPS and Google maps take me up RT 17 to 86 to 90. Just wondering if anyone has taken this way? I'm pulling a 32' 5th wheel. Also does anyone know how the cell service is along this route? Thanks in advance for your help.

I had asked about I86 in western NYS a week or so ago. Last time we took it, it was in very poor repair and the responses I got indicate it's the same or worse now.

Most of I 90 is flat and they have service plazas with high $ fuel. It's not a bad drive but suppose you know I 90 is toll rd. Cell service is good all the way across as far as I know from driving a truck across and road is smooth. Traffic is bad from Erie West to Cleveland area so take your time and you'll be fine.

Verizon is probably better on the western end of NYS.
