I think I was the only vehicle on it. Looks like it just opened a day or so ago. It is complete up to the Chapala-Guadalajara road at the west end which is where I entered it. 88 peso toll towing a trailer. It got confusing when it joined with 15D. Right turn to Mexico city on 15D no problem, but I went straight ahead on 80 towards Lagos de Moreno. A km or so on, I encountered 2 concrete barriers staggered across the lanes aways apart. I just managed to do an S-turn through with my 25 trailer and the road ended a km on where I had to go across some gravel to get onto Hwy 80. I wanted 80D but was just past that. I managed to go 2 km on, do a turn and then get back onto 80D heading north.

I was not able to tell how to get on the new bypass off of 15D westbound, but there must be a way as the toll booths were open in both directions.

In early November, going south, the south end of the bypass was marked with several large billboards announcing that it was open and ready to go. It would have been hard to miss.

The north end??? We were watching, and didn't see anything about it marked along the road.

Think very few know if this new route. There are some very experienced travelers here at acoustic Ha that knew nothing about

It was open when we passed the south end November 15. You seem to be the only person who has been on it!

Hope the other part opens this year.
