RV park payment?

We want to reserve some spots for our small group at an RV park in Puerto Penasco next winter. The park does reservations by mail only.

What is a safe way of sending a deposit for the spots?

And once we're down there, how do most RVrs pay for things? Credit card? U.S. dollars?

Thanks for any information.

Some locations are starting to take credit card via email and they charge on their end. Do beware you have to let your credit card company know as they will hold or cancel the transaction for fear it is fraud. We have been very successful with this process as you are also protected by your credit card company. There is always a little risk! Good luck and have fun, we always enjoy PP/Rocky Point when we are there.

Playa Bonita has an American PO Box in Sonoyta Az for payments.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. Russ, yes it is Playa Bonita that I am hoping to use. Thanks for all the specifics.

If it is Playa de Oro or Playa Bonita or The Reef, they all have USA bank accounts. Simply wire the funds to their account and print the transaction receipt out. Email them a copy of the payment and record their response. It's pretty easy and cost almost nothing to do.

We are locals and we use a combination of Pesos, Dollars and Debit cards for everything. It works the same for you too. Bring dollars with you to pay for things you may have done on your rig while here, go to the ATM here either at the bank or at the supermarket for your pesos. If you haven't done so inform your debit-credit card provider that you will be in Mexico so you do not have issues while here. Plus be sure that you card is a smart card as Mexico changed to this technology years ago and the USA is late to the date and some issuers still have the swipe only cards which we have difficulty with here.

I hope this is helpful.

My brother in law got his christmas card in PV last week, it was mailed in November. You can use DHL, but its pricy.

you need to ask the owner about how they accept deposits. PayPal (unlikely), Western Union and bank to bank transfers are most common.
Sending a check is fine but send it certified mail, that way it is signed off on at every stop and will arrive fine.

The only time I ever prepaid the owner had a US bank account. I can't remember the details but I didn't mail a check to a Mexico address.
