For us, that is the best time to visit Nova Scotia. You being from Florida, mid 70's might seem cold to you, but for us the weather is perfect. Also, the summer crowds are gone and no problem finding campgrounds with many empty sites. Most campgrounds are closed by the second Monday in October, which is Canadian Thanksgiving.

If you have time, don't forget to visit New Brunswick also. Much to see there including the Bay of Fundy.

Agreed on all counts.
New Brunswick's Hopewell Cape to "walk the sea floor", and the Fall colours farther north in Kouchibouguac NP are beautiful, if you're into fall colours. More likely to see them in October.
Mike. Comments are anecdotal or personal opinions, and worth what you paid for them.

It can be like August there in September. A cold snap in Nova Scotia in mid-September would be highly unusual, closer to impossible. Like a lottery win.
What closes after Labour Day? Maybe a roadside farmer's market, but not much else. It's Nova Scotia, not Alaska.

Nice weather then. Low 70's when we were there in mid-Sept.

Unless you get a cold snap!

Some stuff closes after Labour Day, though.
