Hay all;
I am thinking about of taking a trip from cache ok (12 miles west of lawton ok) to colorado springs. I have a 2007 28 ft terry travel trailer 8000 lbs loaded with a 2008 f250 gasser. What is the best way to go to avoid drastic elevation changes. I Know I got to go up the mountains, but i want to avoid if possible big mountain passes something that is a little more gradual if possible. I am not to sure how my truck will pull up big mountain passes. I think she will do ok, but not sure. I did pretty good pulling a 6000 lb trailer but never did it with the bigger trailer. I use to go from El Paso Tx to cloudcroft NM. it went for 5000 feet above sea level to almost 10000 in 16 miles. I was able to do that ok but with my smaller trailer. I want to avoid that drastic of a change if I can.
Thanks in advance and Happy Camping.
