News reports that Trail Ridge Rd/US 34 opened for the season on Friday, 5/29. The roadway was plowed through and the two sides joined.
NPS advising that there will be nightly closures at 8pm, and reopening in the morning as weather permits. Closures are at Rainbow Curve on the east side, and Milner Pass on the west side. This is due to the melting experienced during the day refreezing and creating hazardous driving conditions. Presumably, they'll check the road and re-plow as needed.
The Alpine Visitors Center and the Trail Ridge Store remain closed as they are still buried in snow. No indication from NPS as to when they will open for the season.
