Anyone ever taken this from Orem to Heber City?? Thoughts on pulling a 40ft fifth wheel over it?

As mentioned previously, it's a good highway, freeway like, with freeway like traffic. I just got back from a week in Wasatch State Park with my 5er, but I came and went via hwy 40 to Park City, hopped on 80 to I-15 since I live North of SLC. Definitely not any better for traffic but a good road.

as falk1rk says it a good well traveled road but don't expect to make good time on it. it seems 1/2 of slc is on it at any given time.

I live in UT and we travel through Heber on the way to our property every other weekend and can tell you that 189 will be fine with your rig. We see huge trailers heading down the 189 all the time not to mention semi trucks. The scenery is awesome as well.

When I want to do something like this I will Type in OREM UT into google search and when its small map comes up on the right hand side of the monitor I click on the map. Then I go FULL SCREEN and also select SATELLITE VIEW.

Then I will ZOOM down to the road where I can see the cars and trucks going down the road I am interested in...

Then I will start moving the map view following the road like your 189 road and walk this view all the way from OREM UT to HEBER CITY...

I see all the cars and trucks on the road and look for the sharp turns and if there is any loop back turn etc...

I just did this for the run between OREm and HEBER CITY and do not see anything that I can see that would make this a bad route for a 40-foot RV unit. See many trucks and trucks pulling trailers along this route... The divided roadway is wide enough for your setup... The runs next to the water ways looks like a nice view along the route.

You can also go to street view and look straight out at things...

I started this this without first looking at the large overview of the MAP and didn't see how close HEBER CITY was to OREM haha... I was expecting a longer distance would be involved... Didn't take very long to walk the satellite map view along this route...

Try this out and see if this may help your decision making... I noticed you said SR189 and what I found was a US189 road - Maybe I missed something here...

We do the same thing when picking out some of the campgroounds... Kinda neat to zoom down on the camp site for a real close overhead view of what to expect.
