Bahia Honda Status ?

Any news on Bahia Honda campground ? Their website says closed and under repairs. We have reservations for mid- Feb. so was just wondering if anyone's been by and seen first hand what's going on.

Just starting to get packed up-- we will be heading there Sunday for 2 weeks.

I walked through the campground today. Folks from all over. As far away as Maine, Michigan, Ontario, Montana and even British Columbia. Only a few from Florida.

The docks by 13 are in good shape. They were using the marina parking lot to off-load dredged sand from a barge with backhoe and 2 large containers.

You’re both welcome! I was going to be spending a few hours at Bahia anyway. Sorry I missed checking on the little marina by site 14.

If anyone is interested, I also stopped in at Curry Hammock State Park and took some pictures. Only evidence of any damage I saw was that one of the beach covered picnic areas was roped off.

By the way, no trip to the Fiesta Key would be complete without a few sunrise / sunset pictures.

Sorry, I forgot all about that spot behind 12-13. I’m already gone and unlikely to stop back this week. We heading back home Saturday around noon.

I was talking about the boat basin/docks behind sites 12 and 13 in Buttonwood. Are these docks useable?

I didn’t see anyone using docks on this side by the cabins, which seem to all be getting work done especially roofing. But I did see at least one camper with her power bill attached to them till vehicle in this area not sure if he got to use it here.

I see the boat ramps are still closed. What about the camper's boat docks inside Buttonwood? Are boats allowed to use those yet?

The ocean side camping is completely fenced off for repairs. From what I can see from the road and through the fence those sites are pretty much gone . Unless you ride up the highway north about a half mile and illegally run through the vegetation which I was not going to do. Too bad because I really love this place and hopefully it gets restored soon.
So much devastation along the highway through marathon lots of people lost everything

Thanks for posting the pics. It's good to see what I can expect when I go there this summer. Hopefully the vegetation will continue to fill in between the sites like it was.
