Planning on a trip in vicinity of that area, can anyone recommend a great place?
Won't be taking the Jeep (it can't haul our TT). Looking for beauty and electric.

How was the KOA you stayed at? Internet connection work? Were going to stay there in September. Normally KOA's are fairly good. Thanks.

I'm not sure the internet existed back when I stayed there.

I recommend Archview or River bend. Both are on the north side of the river so U don't have to drive thru town to go see anything. Its very sad that U'r only spending 1 nite in, arguably, the greatest, most beautiful area in the WORLD! If thats all U can do, just do the quick afternoon drive thru Arches Nat'l park. City Market in town has the cheapest gas.

We just got back from Moab also, spend almost 10 days there. We stayed at Portal for a week and then Dead Horse Point State Park for a few nights. Portal is very nice and is just outside of town on the north side, so it's close to Arches Natl Park. Socializing with other campers isn't a factor for me, so no issues there.

We also stayed at Dead Horse for a few nights, and it's a pretty awesome place to camp but it isn't convenient to much else. But if you're only staying for a night, it may not matter.

We just got back from there:

Our favorite in the area is Dead Horse Point State Park, but it is very difficult to get reservations.

On the recommendation of a friend, we just stayed at Portal RV Resort for 2 nights, which was very nice and $$$, but without much character. We like to interact with other campers, but here most of the guests were older (we're old) and stayed in their RV's with the AC running. I was the only one in their pool.

We visited Archview RV Park, which seemed more interesting, and it would have suited our needs better.

We stayed next to Slickrock RV Park, which also looked nice, and was more active.

Many years ago, we stayed at Moab Valley RV Park, and would probably stay here on our next visit.

This is where we stay. Reasonable rates, clean, level, good utilities, pretty views.

We'll be staying there in September. Looking forward to it.

Thanks, all! We're just passing through so it'll be a one nighter, trying to make the best of the one night.

I like ArchiveView, offers a views and utilities, sans being "in town"

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.
