Boyd's has it's location going for it, that's about it. You will be packed in and if you are any bigger than about 35', it will be very tight, probably will need to get the people that park their cars on the interior roads to move so you can get in /out of the site. We've stayed there many times, just because of the location, when we had a smaller rig, but now, I just don't want to bother with the crowd and there are only a few sites that we could fit into without great difficulty.
We now stay at Bluewater Key., it's about 11 miles from Boyd's but a world of difference. Each site has it's own tiki and you will be separated from your neighbors by vegetation. Some sites are bay front, some canal front and some landlocked. We have stayed at all of the different types and prefer the canal side as the winds are less than the bayside yet you can still drop a line in and fish. Price wise, it's about a wash with Boyd's -- look at the Boyd's waterfront price and compare to Bluewater.
Here;s a link to the site we stayed at last, we will be going back to that same site in the fall.
