Stayed here a few weeks ago and wanted to recommend it to people who are looking for a nice place outside of Nashville.
Buffalo River Resort TNThe campsites are reasonably level, large, grass and served by a gravel road that was fine but needed grading. The campground is "up that holler over there" and surrounded by trees. Nice view down the valley. The cabins are on the hill overlooking the campground.
They had tent sites right on the river, with grills.
The restrooms are best described as "spartan concrete." Bring flip flops for the showers, but they're large and the water is hot. The flush toilets work. They are between the campground and the river, so about 1/4 mile from each.
The river beaches are plain but nice. I saw people doing all sorts of swimming, tubing, kayaking and fishing.
Pet-friendly.
Bring bug repellant and/or a bug-zapper. No WiFi that I found. No community room, pool or any of that fancy resort stuff. There weren't any picnic tables when I was there but it was off season. Nice in-ground fire rings at each site.
The people who run the place are nice. It wasn't expensive: I think I paid under $30 for full hooks. If you're interested in no-frills, nice scenery and fun activities, I recommend it.
