Campestre Maranatha RV Park

I just spent 9 days in Campestre Maranatha RV Park in La Paz Baja. I liked this park. The young lady who is in the office is so charming and helpful and like a breath of fresh air compared to some of the Old Grumps who man the offices of so many Parks in the US.

The spaces are very wide and long enough for anything. Utilities are good.

However the number of spaces cited in the Church book Camping Mexicos Baja is now outdated and incorrect. There are only about 12 or 13 full hook up spaces depending on how you count them. There seems to be only one perm resident taking up a space. There is an area they say is reserved for caravans but I didnt see it.

The other spaces mantioned in the book seem to have been sold off with a parcel of land to someone from CANADA who built a house on the lot.

The restrooms are clean and the water is hot.

This campsite sits just on the edge of La Paz and only minutes away from WalMart, Home Depot, Soriana and Auto Zone all handy to have nearby.

This park is also an events location for local get-togethers such as weddings and children's groups. But this did not cause us any problems and it seems is only on the weekends. One group that had a function there was a Children's/teenagers with Cancer Group.

You meet lots of folks from all over the world here because many Expedition Vehicles stay here on their way to or from the mainland by ferry. We counted about nine in our stay.

The current cost is $22 per day, per week $130 USD. If you pay in pesos at the current exchange rate it is slightly less.

The sites are level and all gravel, there are some nice big trees and shady spots. There is a decent laundry but no dryers but plenty of clotheslines and with La Paz's weather this is a plus in my book.
