Not as a total answer, but a helpfull tool try http://www.uscampgrounds.info/

or even https://roadtrippers.com/.

These are two tools I use and have found them quite useful, but nothing like first hand info, I agree.

On http://www.uscampgrounds.info/ click on the map, type in the state abbreviation you want and navigate from there. Click on the location and a wealth of info shows up.
Our 2351D Phoenix Cruiser, Jack, has turned us from campers into RVers and loving it!

Look into Lake George, which extends across the line just west of I-69. There is a large RV resort, Lake George Escape, and an Indiana SP, Pokagon, in the area.

In rvparkreviews, look at both Angola, Indiana, and Coldwater, Michigan. Angola is a bit closer to the state line.

Not to be confused with Lake George, Michigan, which is much further north in the center of the state.

google: campgrounds coldwater mi

It will give you approx 15 CG's in the Coldwater, MI area real near I-69.

Waffle Farm CG looks nice as it's on a peninsula surrounded by lakes and the cost is $34/night full hookup. Less for water and electric sites. Lots more to choose from and you can view them on their individual web site or use google maps satellite view to zoom in on them close up. It's free. Type google maps in google or some browsers already have a link to the maps.
