Holy heat wave I think wife and kids want to go to Disney this July. So is ft wilderness worth it? Any other campgrounds? Worth it to drag the Jeep behind motorhome? Iโ€™ve only been to magic kingdom one time. This time would be 4 day package. What everyone thoughts?

We have been going to Disney in July-August for close to 30 years.. With the kids in school, and DW working for the school district it made sense.

I live in SE PA, it gets hot in the summer... to US, Disney is no hotter than Disney, except your on vacation when in Disney... ALL the shops are AC, the lines to the rides are mostly indoor, so no worries there...
This might be true, but you are walking all over the park on the outside with black pavement under your feet. However everyone is different. Glad you have fun.

Cali is a city in Colombia. I'm going there next week. What comments do you have about it?

A bad day camping is
better than a good day at work!

HOT!
Dealing with lots of people in the heat!
Dealing with screaming kids in the heat!
Standing in long hot lines in the heat!
Eating food in the heat!
Walking a lot in the heat!
Spending a lot of money in the heat!
If you go to the pool it will be in the heat!
You will be sweating in the heat!
You'll be swearing a lot in the heat!
It will rain when it's hot.
Then you'll be wet in the heat!
And you'll still be in FL in the heat!

Did I mention it will be HOT?

However, as my sig says, a bad day (week) of camping is better than a good day at work! So you can see my delema.

Grand Canyon sounds like fun......would you like to hear my comments on Cali?

Maybe a Corona or two. Think about it! Crowds intimidate me, especially international crowds.

Haha well scratch all that. Thanks for the replyโ€™s and Iโ€™ll be able to reference when we do go. Wife and boys want to go to Grand Canyon and possible even California. Iโ€™ll post in a new post.

Bad idea to go to Florida in July.
I haven't been to DisneyWorld since 1972.
Staying in a phony rv park called Fort Wilderness has zero appeal.
Otherwise it is a good idea.

Weโ€™ve stayed at FW many times in all seasons.
Itโ€™s 100% worth it IF you intend on doing the parks. Warning...plan to bring all food and misc. pantry/camper needs because coming and going from there is very time consuming, plus itโ€™s Orlando which has become one of the worst driving experiences in the universe.

Also, bring bug zappers, citronella candles, bee keeper suits and a bulk supply of Benadryl cream. The can of bug spray they give you at check-in will barely get you through the night ๐Ÿ˜‰

Just outside the parks near Celebration is a campground called Tropical Palms. We spent several winters there and liked it a lot. For that you would need a vehicle to get into the parks (and pay to park it).

This is what we did the last time we were there. We LOVE Tropical Palms, great little campground and close to Old Town which is a cool walk to some nice restaurants.

July sounds good. July, 1989. Disney anything is too expensive and too crowded now and I don't want to pay a lot of money to watch rich (or foolish) people who pay a lot more money get to cut in lines. I can stand in line at the DMV for a lot less money, and they have air conditioning. But I'm not going to do that, either. I went 10 years ago. I used to say that in about 20 years I'll want to go again. I don't think I would go again in 50 years. Is Universal Park any less crowded and expensive?
