The article says all campgrounds, etc closed through Sept. 30th unless rescinded. But the premise is that they are closing due to public restrooms and such. The Governor of Oregon is doing everything to keep people from going places and gathering outside of their homes.

I sure think this is overkill.

Governments rarely think about how they can stay open. Why they can’t leave the campgrounds open but close the facilities boggles the mind. Restrict camping to fully self contained RV’s, accept only online reservations and payments. There a ways to leave things open safely but closing everything is easier.

The great civil right to go camping during a pandemic? Which article or amendment prohibits the states or federal government from closing campgrounds?

State governments are seeing how far they can push us before we take to the streets in protest. Right now we're following all their orders without question so they keep piling on more. We do have civil rights.

“This is getting out of hand.” What? It’s “out of hand” in Illinois...19,180 infected and 677 deaths. Oregon doesn’t want to follow Illinois.

Well, Oregon can kiss all there tourism dollars goodbye. This is getting out of hand. Camping is the one thing we can do where there isn't a huge gathering of people.
If this keeps up the number of suicides is going to surpass the number of deaths from the virus because tens of thousands of people will lose their job, house family and ultimately they have nothing else to live for. Don't think it's true, look at the Great Depression.

Oregon’s numbers look very good compared to Washington’s 10,224 cases, 491 deaths.
Possibly the Oregon Governor isn’t overreacting.

Oregon has as of today has 1,321 Corona virus case and 44 deaths. How many more cases and deaths would it take not to be “overkill?”

Why stop at lowering the risk and why only for COVID? They could close them all permanently and eliminate any risk of anyone ever getting infected with anything.

IMHO it is better to be safe than sorry. It is possible the shut down can be amended at a later date. Keeping the majority public safe outweighs the freedom (camping at that) of the few.

A good way to direct spending toward higher priority items. You can argue what does or doesn't constitute a priority. How this is determined and who is making that determination will be a discussion far into the future.
