Am planning next years trip to Kakabeka Falls and Fort William. Both spots look very interesting to visit. Need some help on how long to stay at each spot and where to park the camper. It looks like each spot has a camp ground, but is there a great spot halfway between the two if that would work better.

Historical Park is open field camping but handy to visit the village. Be sure to ask if there is a concert when u r there. If so, don't stay. We did and the noise vibrated the windows and counter tops for 8 hours! Kakabeka Falls is beautiful. There is a provincial park there. Not sure of the lot sizes.

We just did this in July...stayed at Happy Land CG on Hwy 17, and it's only about a mile or so from Kakabeka, maybe 15 miles tops from Fort William (and about an hour from Sleeping Giant).

Happy Land isn't a bad spot, only negative to us was not much room with your fire ring. Place is very clean, has a pool. Beverage stores, grocery stores real close by. They give a Good Sam discount too.

I loved Kakabeka Falls, very scenic, but you probably only need a day there.

Like rr225 mentioned, don't cheat yourself on the way up there. Great state parks on Hwy 61 in Minnesota. We stayed at a place called Lamb's Resort CG, loved that place and we were within an hour north and south of some wonderful scenery....one of my favorite journeys ever.

Fort William is great and you should allow 3-4 hours - they have a huge parking lot so should not be a problem - I would call them first. Did not know they had a campground full hookups for $35 is good

The falls as I remember has a small lot - not sure on the time depends on how many trails you would take

You will pass some great Minnesota campground on the way up in Grand Marais and Two Harbors plus this falls that is literally at the US - Canada border
