Michigan State Parks

Do the state parks in Michigan have showers? It states modern restrooms but not showers.

Michigan SPs are generally quite nice, IMO. Note that they do charge entry fees in addition to camping fees. Annual stickers are available, which, if you plan to stay more than 3-4 nights, may save you some $.

Union Bay CG in the Porcupine Mtns SP has showers but as said, the Presque Isle CG does not as it's rustic and will stay that way per the SP Rangers there. Nearly all Michigan SP CG's have showers and most have seperate doors to each shower stall. Some Michigan State Park CG's have state of the art bathouses and showers. We live very near Grand Haven SP and the bathouse and showers would put most nice home's bathrooms to shame. There are about 12-15 fancy individual doored tiled shower rooms around 3 sides of the new centrally located building. Some of them are for families and have toilets and dry dressing areas in the large individual shower rooms just like the ADA (handicapped) shower rooms have. Mom etc can bring all the kids in at the same time and make short work of getting them all clean and ready for bed just like a production line! We're constantly hearing campers rave about the new facility.

There are a couple that don't have showers. Presque Isle campground at Porcupine Wilderness State Park comes to mind. But these are few and far between.

Yes but the state is in the process of updating them. So you may encounter a park or two that haven't been updated. They still have showers but may be a little tired.

In Michigan the "Modern restrooms" are shower houses also. The new design is to have a boys restroom and a girls restroom then a bank of separate showers. They are a nice design.
