We are traveling West on I-40 and needed to stop near Albuquerque for the night. Using my Good Sam Campground app we decided on Turquoise Trail Campground and RV Park. It's about 4 miles off I-40 on Hwy 14. The climb up here wasn't bad. They have full hook-ups and wi-fi, but the best thing for us is the location. It's an older CG and there are some permanent residents but well kept; a few homes nearby but very quiet. If you like rustic and scenic you would like it here. We decided to stay 2 days to rest up and enjoy the birds and fresh, cold air. Got a back-in site near the back away from the main group of campers and did without sewer to have more privacy. We love New Mexico! Didn't know it was so beautiful.

PenMan, we did come from Florida after all! It may be the "Sunshine State" but a lot of it is "liquid" as we like to say. We had rain in Oklahoma, a terrible storm in Amarillo, and lots of rain clouds followed us to NM. Wish we had planned more time here. This is a learning adventure for us, hopefully not our last visit to your beautiful state. We're headed to AZ tomorrow, then Utah, Yellowstone and Tetons. Return route not yet decided. Retired recently so no deadline.

You're staying on the Turquoise Trail. You should take a ride up to Madrid while you're close. Fun little town with a couple of places to eat and some nice shops to visit. Probably 30 minutes from your campground. That's one of my favorite motorcycle rides (live in Albuquerque right in the foothills) up Hwy. 14 thru Madrid and on to Santa Fe. BTW, if you brought the rain showers with you THANK YOU very much.
