Overnight spot around Dyersburg, Tn to Jackson, Tn

We are going to be headed down to Gulf State Park the end of November for a week.

We will be looking for an overnight spot someplace around Dyersburg, Tn. or to Jackson, Tn at the farthest.

We would be pulling in in the evening, and leaving out, probably, around six AM. We don't need any hookups, I don't even plan on unhooking from the truck.

We have never overnighted at Wally World, Cracker Barrel, etc. I wouldn't mind it if I feel comfortable in the area. I saw that there are the usual box stores and such in the Dyersburg and Jackson areas.

Does any have a particular recommendation for this overnight stop ?

Thanks, Ken

The sams/Walmart on I-40 is right on your route, and there are a number of good places to eat(or shop) close by.

Dyersburg is too small to have BAD neighborhoods and there is only one Walmart. I'm sure you would be perfectly safe there.

2 Walmarts in Jackson and they are both in good areas. A few poorer neighborhoods in Jackson but nothing really bad.

The Sam's Club & one of the Walmarts in Jackson are on the north side of I-40, very respectable area, close to each other. Either one would be fine for a quick overnight.

Cracker Barrel in Jackson doesn't have a very big parking lot, Walmart or Sam's would be a better choice.

Here in Jackson, we see a lot of people overnighting at Sams club next to Walmart. Not enough room to stay at Cracker Barrel. At the Sams, there is a big lighted parking lot on the right end of the store, easy in, level parking, and enough overhang so putting a slide out is no problem. It is usually empty except for the RVs overnighting there.
