In June, we boondocked for a total of eight nights in Eldorado and Toiyabe National Forests, near the Desolation and Mokelumne Wildernesses:

In May, we dry camped for a few nights in the Angeles National Forest, at Buckhorn Campground:

Look, Mom, We're Camping!

I apologize for not reproducing the trip reports in the forum, but there are just too many photos and too much text. But here is an "appetizer" photo -- this is Round Top, near Carson Pass:

Busskipper, she actually arranges the shots -- she says, "Oh, that one would be nice." And then it is up to me to do the detail work -- for example, how to get the close-up flowers in focus, and also the mountain, by using the right f-stop (like f-22) for a long depth of field, which requires a longer exposure, which might involve a change to the ISO, etc., etc.

She could do the technical work, but she is too busy spotting other potential photos.

Just great to have someone to enjoy it with -

Not fair to have your partner arrange the Flowers - as usual just BEAUTIFUL, not just the location but also the Picture.

Always enjoy your trips,

Cal, diesel would be nice -- maybe someday. And Green, my junior ranger badge came with a complete selection of summit stickers, so I am all set!

Great reports, Dan. I really like the looks of the Wright's Lake area.
"even with the truck floored, we were going under 20 mph."
Maybe a diesel upgrade? (if you really want to go faster)

I've been in those areas, complete with both flowers and rattlesnakes, but not doing such ambitious hiking. Thanks for sharing your stories and your glorious photos.
