We spent the first night at the Blake Ranch RV Park (and Horse Motel - I kid you not), located at exit 66 off of I-40 just 12 miles east of Kingman. Very nice, reasonably priced RV Park. Full hook ups, excellent facilities and a very friendly staff. Stopping here made for a very short drive on day two up to Vegas.
We have used the Sam's Town Casino RV park in North Las Vegas three times and have been very pleased on every visit. It is a large, (also), reasonably priced park with full hook ups. While North Vegas is not the nicest part of town the on site security is excellent. The Casino is next door if you are so inclined and has a very good Buffet. Having extracted $240 from this Casino (on my birthday), I may be just a tad biased. :W
If you go to Zion make reservations for the Watchman CG inside of the park. For $18 a night ($9 with a Geezer pass), you get 30 amp electric, spotless restrooms and a two lane dump station all just a short walk from the visitor center and the free trams that take you throughout the park (this service varies with the season). The RV parks just outside of Zion are pricey, very crowded and get decidedly mixed reviews.
Last stop yesterday of our 10 day trip was my old favorite Quartzite. Not much going on in town now but just wait till January. They are already starting to gear up for the big RV (and other), shows. We headed down 95 and stayed in a very nice BLM area about ten miles south of quartzite and yep it was free. :B
We covered 1,300 miles over 10 days and 9 nights and spent $113 on RV parks and the Watchman CG at Zion. We had electricity for 8 of the 9 nights and full hook ups for 3.
Here is shot of our "site" south of Quartzite which can be seen in the background 10 miles to the northwest:
