Video TR: Lake Havasu & Oatman, AZ

Lake Havasu is a turquoise jewel on the Colorado River separating Arizona from California. We boondock on BLM in Craggy Wash while visiting both Lake Havasu City and the town of Oatman along Historic Route 66, which is positively overrun by a herd of wild burros:

Oh we did enjoy, that was filmed in early November. It's still crazy busy right past the line where camping is still allowed, but we went 3 miles in to gain some solitude. If my only option had been the crowded area up front, I would've gone somewhere else.

Thanks.
Been here awhile.
Couldn't take the Chicago weather anymore.
Ya Oatman is over run with burros. We rode through there a few weeks ago on our bikes and had to stop and wait for the burros to cross.
Such a versatile area to either be on the lake or go off roading and then head out to shoot some guns or go to the casino across the lake for $2 boat ride.

Oatman is a great place to visit but with an RV, it's best to only enter the town from the West side. The East entrance, from Flagstaff, has a very dangerous (for RVs) downhill grade. It's best just viewed from Oatman once you come in from the West.

We approached from the west; never saw the grade to the east.

Heard they thought they were buying the "real" London bridge however.

Yes, Lake Havasu City was a purpose-built community founded in 1964 by the founder of McCulloch oil, and the chainsaw company that bears his name.
