Hello,
I'm considering a 01 32RL to buy and it will be my permanent home.
Question is it considered an all season coach? Are we talking heated
tanks and such? I can't seem to find anything yet on construction.
I'll be looking at it tomorrow, any suggestions in what to look for?
Thanks,Frank

The 2001 to 2005 series were the last of the really good Alpenlites.

I have a 2007. It is still better than average & served us well for many miles but it is no match for the earlier models.

We bought a 2003 32RL last May, and have not regretted it one bit. Our info says we have heated tanks, but we still do the winterization thing (anti-freeze, etc.); obviously, we're still learning the systems. Wish they still made these. So far, I'd recommend you take it, if it meets your needs. Good luck.

In 2001 Alpenlite was probably the Cadillac of the RV world. Sadly the company sank into mediocrity by the end due to a lot of circumstances, mostly disinterested family. If it is in good shape and the price was right I would jump on it in a heart beat

I am looking at a 2001 alpenlite brochure and it tells it has heated and insulated fresh water and holding tanks. Something I didn't know. On the 2003 brochure it shows it is heated but just tells on the 2001.

They were generally well thought of, but had a number of design changes over the years and I wish I could remember all the details (we seriously looked at buying one of that period 10+ years ago)
The key is look at the underside, if there is a barrier under the tanks, sealing the bottom, the tanks are probably heated via the propane furnace. If the tanks are exposed, the answer is no.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.
