2002-2003 Cougar Mid Year 295?

So we just got a 2002 Cougar 295EFS 5th Wheel. The previous owner said it was actually a 2003 model. If you look at the book value the 295 didn't come out till 2003. The title says 2002 and I found a document where the original owners purchased an extended warranty and it shows the purchase date as May-2002. This is no problem but when I try to insure it my insurance company doesn't show a 32' model for 2002. What shall I do to insure it properly? I suppose I can try a different company.

On RVvalues online the 295 Cougar 5th wheel isn't shown until 2005. Maybe this unit is uninsurable for that reason? I really liked it but I suppose I could sell it and get a newer one because I really would like to have it insured.

If you purchased it in May 2002 then it was likely a 2002 model. I don't think they do a model year change over until early July. It may have been a prototype for a 2003. There should be a manufacture date somewhere on the tag on the left outside of the unit. Beyond that I'd call the manufacturer, give them the VIN, and see what they say.

Also, your insurance company may be going by the model number (29) rather than the actual overall length.

So maybe I didn't make myself clear. I bought the unit used from the second owner. It is a 295. If you go to NADA Guides the 295 doesn't appear until 2003. Same thing with Progressive insurance. So my main concern is how the heck am I going to insure it in this day in age when everything is done with drop downs in computers. So obviously they made a few 2002's in the 295 model but they didn't show up on the mainstream (computer systems included) until 2003.
