3rd A/C in larger 5th Wheels

I notice several mfg's have the option of including a 3rd A/C unit in the living area (most are the front living models). Living in the hot climate down south, that may be something to consider.

I do have a question about this option. Can all 3 units run at the same time on 50 amps?

We have a 15000 AC. Works ok for most of our needs. We are in Az now and it does a fine job at 99 degrees but we get tired hearing it run. summers in Az would need 3 of course. friend bought a new Carriage Royal International model fifth in 2011 with 2 ac's that were both in the living, kitchen area so shutting the bedroom door if the ac was needed during the night it was very quiet.

My issue is we have stayed in very nice resort parks that we could not to the toaster and micro at the same time. Had a couple campgrounds on the trip this time that put us in the red.

Not only that but I feel that trying to force the cold air thru the duck work it losses a lot of efficiency. These ducks aren't big enough and the fans on the ac aren't strong enough. I have a portable in the LR that's 7,500 btu and I feel it does a better job then the 15,000 on the roof. Of course venting is a problem and its always in the way but it sure works good. How about the AC covers being BLACK!!! I will be painting the top of mine white.

Try going to the Hydro Plane races in the Tri-Cities when it's 105F with no shade and no power so you have to run the generator to power the A/Cs all day. If possible, our next DP will have three A/Cs.

If so you have something that is drawing too much amperage.

I run 3 AC's in 90-120 temps with ZERO issues.

Get the 3 AC's and enjoy life!!!

Howdy!

Nothing wrong with the system, itโ€™s just the way Heartland wired them so I donโ€™t have a choice.

My 2800 sf home uses two 2.5 ton (about 30,000 BTU each) units. Note also that it is insulated much better than any RV can hope for.

I'm thinking of getting a portable a/c for the garage of our toy hauler and run a 20A cord to the pedestal.

A guy pulled up next to me and plugged in a 50 amp cord and a 30 amp cord! I asked about it and he said he had a third ac added and it was wired separate of the main plug-in with a separate thermostat. I asked him if a CG manager ever asked him about the two plugs and he said no. I'm considering doing that in the fantastic fan between the kitchen and bedroom. Yes, in AZ its needed!!

Why on earth would he do that? I consider the 3rd AC a "spare" in case one of the others stops working. Although I do have 2 fantastic fans too, so maybe he had none?

I can run all three on mine while on 50A with no restrictions. One is a 15K heatpump, the other two are 13.5K AC only. Mine are three separate thermostats.
