5th wheel hitch lift

I belong to three different trailering forums and don't remember where I saw a similar lift someone had built. I used the general idea of his and built this one. It fits into the hitch the same as the pin on the trailer. Lock it in place and use a cherry picker or overhead hoist to lift it and save your back. I just used what I had on hand

Well you will get even smarter as time goes on .

At 62 he's still a pup and pups do get smarter as they age

The few weeks ago I unloaded my drill press off the back of my truck and carried it into the shop. A couple days later my back was bothering me so I looked up the specs and found it weighs 227 lbs. It doesn't seem like very many years ago that 227 lbs would have been something I could quite easily handle ..... I'm only 57 but I guess it's time for me get a little smarter too. I should probably hang a pulley from my garage ceiling and use the winch on my quad to unload my hitch.

I built this to handle the 300 lbs my Superglide presented. 2500 lbs 12v ATV winch ($50 HF) few pieces of 1/8 plate, 1โ€ pipe, 1 1/4 pipe, small flat bar and made my own hitch pin and a couple of pullies. Have less than $100 buck in it and works great.

WOW didn't mean to stir up a hornets nest. For those who want the physical workout, have at it. Those that hang it from the trailer, I don't care to leave mine out in the weather. Those that leave it in the truck, I use my truck for other things so I don't care to have the hitch in all the time. Another way of looking at it is. You can work hard or work smart. I chose smart for this job

I few years ago, I " manned up" removing my super glide in 1 piece...

Went into surgery the following week to repair a hernia... Thats that last time I did that... Up till this past year, if I needed to remove, I broke it ( Superglide ) down to as many pieces as possible... Head...Swivel...2 way tubes...base...rails.... :S. Live And Learn
