This has been discussed on another forum for months. Don't know if it has been a common problem with other brands or not. My new Montana came with frameless Kinro windows. The rear emergency window latch (short arm) broke off within the first 3 months. We never even had the opportunity to open/close that window before the cheap latch simply broke in half!
Had to drill a couple of small holes and wire tie the window shut. Now instead of three emergency fire exits we were down to two. Keystone RV has had the latch on back order for over a year. Now it seems the Kinro window manufacturer claims the part is not being produced!
I would encourage anyone with one of these broken emergency latches to file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Assoc. (NHTSA). It is really easy to file a complaint on-line. Myself and others have started filing complaints and it seems this is the only way our emergency exits will ever be operational again.
