I am looking for a fifth wheel hitch, and saw a Curt A16 that looks like a nice unit. I have had a curt receiver hitch in the past but no fifth wheel experience. Anyone using one ?, how do you like it ?. Thanks

May as well get used to it, or just block the people that offend you.;)

look at the A16

When the OP posted his question about the A16 I could not find one but looking again I see it and its design. I can not see any difference-I am sometimes a little slow minded-between it and the Q16. Both have the same rubber/torsion between the frame and head that the Q16 has. I am able to rock mine-not a lot-but have had no issues. I certainly would not pay the kind of money that the Curt website has for a MSRP. The hitch video shows a fore and aft movement.

My Mopar/Curt 20K hitch is very beefy, quiet, and easy to use. Despite what you may have read.

I have had a Curt Q16 now for 5 years with no problems so far....

The way I look at it is you keep it clean and do a little PM
on any 5th wheel hitch they will last a long time....

My new trailer (Durango Gold G384RLT) is right around 14k loaded
and it pulls it just fine....

You also have to take in consideration the pin box, a good pin
box makes allot of difference as well to chucking .....

I bought my Curt 16 from Amazon. Three years and no problems. There are more expensive and perhaps better, but I don't see the need. I travel from WI to TX and FL every year, just fine. If you have all the money in the world buy one that comes even with airbags. A neighbor in one of the camps had it and was trying to sell me the idea. I usually buy what I need. Curt is fine

My first Q16 hitch came from Amazon, missing part that fell out the badly beat up cheap box. The replacement, although beat up, had all the parts. They saved money on the box also.

UPS wrapped the second one so it would make it with all the parts.

psford.....To answer your question, I would say a low cost, lower build quality, but get the job done hitch. It is often the one the dealer throws in to close the sale.

My first FW hitch was entry level, low cost, noisy, but functional. It was a slide bar, worked quite well when new. As the bar wore, it got kind of sloppy, but still very dependable.

I am not knocking the Curt, it is a good price, probably a better hitch than most entry level. However, when looking at Learjets excellent pics, it is easy to see the quality difference, comparing to his B&W.

Learjet...That is a very nice B&W 18K hitch. It is $650 at E-trailer. B&W also makes a very similar 16K Patriot, just bolted vrs. welded. It is $550 at E-trailer. Either, is very well built top quality!

I have no experience with the A-16 Curt hitch. I see they are only $340 at E-trailer. It is a good price, and will likely do the job as well as any entry level hitch.

All above hitches are shipped free to your door.

What does entry level mean. Just curious:h
