Since there does not currently seem to be a Jayco owners forum, Moderator Frank has graciously allowed this thread. It will be for discussing Jayco related questions and comments. Anything not Jayco related will be deleted. Sounds more than fair to me. Thank-you Frank!

Great news!! And hats off to you and anyone else who takes risks and open/starts a new business. I hope it is a great success for you. If I travel that way I will be sure to stop in.

And of course you know you are now very close to God's country! Alaska being the real place! :B

Well folks ... many of you know my wife and I were planning on taking the plunge on buying a park. We finally did it. (Actually more than just an RV Park !!)

We bought the Lone Fir Resort in Cougar Washington, on the South side of Mount St Helen's National Monument. We live in our Designer full time now and have been loving it.

A local paper did an article on us this past week that I thought I would share with everyone ...

(Article)

If you get a chance ... come see us !

Interior or exterior holes? I'm assuming interior.

Still waiting to hear back from Bigfoot but with the 12" frame we have, that won't be the issue. They were only concerned about having room to get in there and work.

Yes, with the "alumaguard" the entire awning will be encased when rolled up.

We bungee the legs of 2 chairs together and none of them have ever moved...

Hmmm ... we don't tie ours down at all and they've never moved !?!?

I blame this on the wife ๐Ÿ™‚ we never used to tie them down but one day she decided to tie both together while traveling...all of this going on while we have recently left the coffee pot on the counter next to the stovetop while traveling and has never moved

Lloyd,

Let me know how the Bigfoot thing goes and if they say the frame of the Designer can handle the Bigfoot system...we have the generator in front also and would like to know how that goes for you. Also does the alumaguard metal wrap mean the awning is completely covered when rolled up?

Thank you. I assume the other option is to replace the whole piece of fabric with a new one?

Still waiting to hear back from Bigfoot on my install. They requested some pictures of my fron landing gear area in relation to my generator box in the front. I wanna make sure it will work 100% before I take the plunge.

Also, ordered a new fabric for my main awning today. I am soooo tired of mine getting filthy so I got one with the "alumaguard" metal wrap. It took a lot of emailing back and forth with my dealer and Carefree to get the exact part number. If anybody else wants to replace theirs, just let me know and I will post that info.

Is it possible to buy just the aluminum guard?
