Dish or Direct TV?

Which one is better? We have never had satellite. Seriously considering making the switch from cable to satellite at home. One benifit would be to be.able.to use it camping. If you were to do this which would you choose.? Thanks, John

Dish was a better deal for me than direct. If you are traveling less than 200 miles from home you get locals without doing anything over 200 miles you call and they change the locals for you. I use the same receiver at home and in the RV, I do use 2 different satellite dishes.

You will get lots of opinions. It is like Ford or Chevy?

We have had Direct for the7 years of our full time travels and like it. Service is good, portable antenna is easy to point and find a signal on.

With both brands you will lose signal during heavy rain storms. Usually it is about 5 minutes for us. The thing that amazes me is that the service overall has less outages than our home with cable TV.

i see lots of both types out there. For us it was the programming choices on one vs. the other.

Flip a coin! Ford or Chevy? It's just a personal choice, both work. However check carefully on local channels, as Dish has been in a war again with some local feeds.

Dish has the option of no contract so you can stop or drop when you want.you own the equipment but they cover warrenty on it so no rv fees when you want it in the rv
