Question for those who double tow. Do you find overnite camp ground that can accommodate you enroute without unhooking, or do you stay at wallyworld or something similar. This will be my first year to do so and I will be 64 ft long. Thank You.

I call it pulling my boat behind my fifth wheel.

Why is it triple tow? Drove a truck for a living back years ago and it was "pulling doubles".

Several states call it triple-tow, but that makes no sense at all. If towing two trailers is "triple-tow" then towing one trailer has to be "double-tow" and towing NO trailer would then be "single-tow".

Nevada allows tractors with three trailers, within length limits, and they call it triple-tow.

Never hear it called triple but maybe it depends on the state it's in as to how they word it.

Just Michigan for example

FYI it's "triple tow". Also it's not legal in several States.

This is our first year of double towing. I try to find places were I dont have to unhook. We dont usually go to rv parks and mainly boondock. I use google earth a lot to see what an area looks like. Heading west from Michigan our first night was in a small township park in the U P. Second night was in a Walmart in Wiscosin. Third was at Cabelas in Nebraska and following 5 nights in an rv park in Nebraska. I stumbled into it when looking for a Boon D area which had not been reviewed. They let me dry camp for $10.00 a night.

Google earth is excellent for planning a route and seeing everything from Walmart access to gas stations etc. Walmart is more of an emergency stop for us as the quality of the areas can vary widely. I try to map out a few options in any area we go to and write down the directions as the gps wont work in all areas 100% of the time. I'm in the Denver area now and get crazy gps results at times. I was sitting at a walmart yesterday near Arvada and it wanted to take me to a walmart over in wheat ridge and the one I was at has been there several years.

I have been in a few crazy spots in previous years and had to back into fields and turn around in very tight parking lots etc, but now those same spots would be a crisis so it's a lot more stressful. It is a whole new game now and I just have to adapt to it and do my homework before heading out.

We usually boondock, but when we need a campground site double towing, I ask for a pull-through and tell them we have a second trailer. So far, it hasn't been a problem.

We are 67' with our boat and we do not look for a spot to fit it all without unhooking. Usually we look for a spot that fits the 5th wheel and truck and park the boat next to the truck or in a parking area. We have gotten very good at hooking/unhooking in minimum time. We are not Walmart, etc. parking types so we never have done that style of stopping so I can't answer that part.
