First time out this season and...water problems

So we took the fifth wheel out for the first time this season. Attached the water hose, turned it on, and heard what sounded like spraying water. After about 10 seconds, water started pouring out the bottom of the camper, between the frame and the shroud that enclosed the underbelly.

Turned the water off at the spigot, and you can continue to hear water spraying for about 30-45 seconds after the water was turned off.

Took a look and there doesn't seem to be any easy way of removing the shroud to see what's going on under there. The only things I know for sure is:

1) the water hose was screwed on tight and was not leaking.
2) the shower was working when the leak was occurring. The leak was also occurring when the shower was off.

Does anyone have any ideas at all???

Thanks to everyone who replied. The problem turned out to be the outdoor shower. Replaced that for $40 and no leaks!!!

Partially filling your fresh water tank and turning on your pump may make troubleshooting the leak a little easier. It should leak at a slower rate and it will give you a quicker shut-off, right at the trailer.

If you do the three side cut, make sure the uncut side is toward the pinbox. Otherwise wind resistance will pull it down in no time.

Agree with ReneeG. Take the panel wall off in the basement. Same thing happened to an uncle. It was his outside shower connection leaking. If it works, that'll save you from having to take off the underbelly cover. Good luck. Let us know what you finally find the problem to be.

Similar happened to us but it was in our yard. Every year, before heading out we do a spring shake down at home. In our case, the spraying water was coming from the outside shower connection under the floor. DH had to take the inside basement wall out to expose all the plumping and water heater and found that the connection to the outside shower was loose. After winterizing and prepping for the camping season, we sometimes find issues. Sometimes it's our fault, and other times it's because in rolling homes things work loose. One spring shake down, the toilet valve leaked. Found that we had not winterized it correctly. Still, better to find them at home weeks in advance of a trip then out in the field.

Depending on the type of bottom cover you have cutting an access hole on 3 sides and pulling it down and looking up and in is easy. Sealing up the cut out hole is done with some wood that overlaps the edges and 1 inch screws. I have opened up the bottom of mine in a few spots and the screws have held up the cut outs for years. That way you can see what you need to fix. Could it be a split line from freezing with water in it over the winter? Oh yea, cut the opening large enough to put your shoulders through so you can get up in there, makes the repairs a lot easier.

Sounds like a broken water line. Did you winterize last Fall? You'll have open that shroud and see what's going on for sure.

Yes I would guess so. But as it seems to be one piece, I question whether I'd ever get 25' back in place if I took it down.
