Is it possible (or advisable) to tow a small light 5th wheel with a sliding hitch on an F-150 5 1/2 foot bed?

The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up.

It really depends on the fifth wheel. If you are talking a Scamp fiver or an older low profile fiver from the 80โ€™s. Sure. Use a PullRite or a Sidewinder.

Newer Half Ton towable fivers are really 3/4 Ton towable.

Thanks!

Pullrite makes a superglide hitch specifically for the 5 1/2' box.

^^^ what they said ^^^^

It's not about being able to TOW the fifth wheel . . .

It is about being able to CARRY the pin weight in the bed . . .

Grand Design makes a 1/2 ton towable 5th wheel that comes with an articulating pin box. However since most all 1/2 tons don't have the payload capacity to carry the loaded pin weight it's really tough to to tow a 5th wheel with a 1/2 ton and be under all weight ratings.

Possible???...maybe, but a better choice would be a sidewinder type pinbox. I'm sure you know, just asking the question, that truck is not the best tool for the job.
