Hitch adjustment with bigger tires?

I bought a GD 27RL at the end of last season, towed it home, and parked it - didn't use it. Over the winter I put new tires on the truck which were a size bigger than my old ones. Went to hook it up today and the pin box on the trailer is two inches shorter than the skid plate and the trailer is four inches over the bed of the truck. The front landing gear is manual with legs and pins so I can't raise it. Am I overlooking an adjustment on the hitch - Reese slider - or is it from the new tires?

That's what happens when it sits all winter. Get out and use it. 🙂

You should be able to adjust the hitch up/down and the same with the pin box. Unless they are already adjusted fully in the needed direction. The pin should be a little below the hitch skid plate anyway when you hitch. Best to have a helper when working on the pin box as they are heavy.

Otherwise you could get a couple of bottle jacks and jack up the front of the 5ver enough to complete hitching be sure to do a good job of chocking the 5ver wheels as you don't want to knock it off the bottle jacks. You should own one bottle jack anyway in case you need to work on the 5ver on the road.

If you are saying that the new tires raised the frame of the truck by two inches, that is a lot more than just one size bigger. Fifth wheel towing with oversize wheels/tires is generally not recommended, but I'm not sure I understand just what is going on.

"Can't raise" because of manual landing gear??? Again I don't quite understand. Crank it up!

More detail and/or pictures will help us help you.
