I wonder ? Lifetime Warranty

The DW and I just bought a brand new 5er, they offered the Lifetime warranty on major repairs such as stove, frig, etc ๐Ÿ™‚

This warranty supposedly was for as long as we owned the trailer ...

I wonder how many people have bought into this and if so, how much of a problem was it to get something fixed after a few years ๐Ÿ˜„

In the past I had a extend warranty on my TV and when it came time to fixing a problem they only paid maybe a third of the cost ... thus we turned down this offer and saved ourselves a bunch of money ...:B

I also wonder what percent of owners really buy into such, as well what percent buying into such if needed have any luck getting things fixed without a lawyer beating down the door of a dealer to honor such :h

Who exactly is under writing this warranty. More than a few extended warranty outfits have gone out of business leaving the "insured" person out of luck...
Lifetime is a long time. Be careful and read the fine print.
"not included, claim denied," are not uncommon with these.

Take the money they want for the extended warranty (lump sum or monthly payment) and put it in a special savings account as a self-insured extended warranty. I would also add a little to it monthly. When the time comes for a repair, ask yourself, "Should I pay this claim or deny this guy his just due?" Just a thought...

Dealers make a ton of extra money on these "extended warranties." That's why they push them so hard. They really don't care whether you are covered or not. They have plenty of repair business to keep them busy.

We do not buy into extended warranties. I prefer to go with the Clint Eastwood phrase, "Do I feel lucky?"
