Rear door edge wear

I have a 2010 Fuzion 302. Recently I noticed that the edges of the rear door aluminum frame is wearing significantly under the door latches. The door probably rocks back and forth under the latches when traveling down the road. Anybody have a similar experience and repair suggestion?

I was thinking about having a sheet metal shop cut out some thin stainless steel strips to rivet to the door frame under the door latches.

You may want look at the structure supporting the door frame. If you are getting excessive movement, the framing may be floating/detached allowing for flex.
