Hello all,
We purchased our 5th wheel Wednesday and went camping today. The freezer is freezing but the refrigerator is only 58 degrees. Am I missing a swithbor something? We have the Dometic Model rm1350slmx side by side.
Thank you

Setting the T'stat lower will not speed up the cooling process. The cooing unit only has a limited cooling capacity and work to produce the maximum cooling when it is on.

A residential electric unit may cool down in 4 hours, but not an absorption type.

Thank you for the advice. Over time it finally got cold. I panicked I guess.

Your fridge will take at least 4 hrs to cool down. Freezer section has to cool down first then food section will cool down.

Fridge needs to be 'reasonably level' to operate properly.
Off level operation will damage it....damage is accumulative and permanent.

The thermistor on the RM1350 is on left side in a fixed bracket.
Temperature is controlled via temp setting on upper panel

When initially cooling fridge......run it at MAX temp setting then when food section gets down to 40*F adjust temp setting downward.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Here's a hint. Buy yourself a bunch of freezer packs and load them in the fridge when you first turn it on. Also, even a battery-powered fan to circulate some air, helps. There are also 12v fan kits that tie into the hot wire of the fridge light that can greatly help. As TXiceman said, loading only pre-cooled food also helps a lot.

Did not know about the 24 hours. So much for the food in it. Stupid question, ... where is the thermistor ?

Normally 18 to 24 hours to cool down and only load it with precooled food.
