RV Direct purchase

Looking at a new pinnacle this year, and we have been doing mostly research online. Talked with some of the high volume dealers and the prices seem to be much better. Got a quote from RV Direct this morning that really put things on a new level. Problem is closest dealer is 10 hours away. We've pretty much settled on floor plan and options. Our closest dealer has the unit with interior and options on his lot, and we are going to go up and take a shot this weekend. Anyone ever purchased something like this from RV Direct and had that kind of distance between you and them? I could see a lot of things going wrong....thoughts?

Our situation is a little different than most. We usually never move the unit, it is on an annual site at one of the campgrounds on Kentucky Lake in Western Kentucky. About 20 miles from a dealer. I would love to be able to purchase from this dealer, but the difference in price is crazy. I am going this weekend if work permits and give him a chance to get in the game..

Since I'm also considering a Jayco, when I start to get down to brass tacks, I plan on talking to Jayco directly and flat-out asking them about warranty service and if they would authorize a certified mobile service to do work if a local dealer, whether home or on the road, won't service my rig in a timely fashion.

I gotva very good quote from them last year on a Toy Hauler. Went into Camping World and they matched the price so we ordered it from them. Thought I would have better warranty service from CW as we're flltimers.

But where will you be in line for service at your local dealer?
There are may many stories here about people buying from one dealer and another dealer REFUSING TO service or letting the rig sit a long time before getting to it.
For me it would not matter cause I am on the road

another topic still being discussed. Jayco says all dealers will service, local dealer says they provide parts but I pay for everything else. I'm going up this weekend and see if we can get closer...now it's a no brainer.
