Slideout seal caulk

What do you use to caulk the slideout seals that are on the exterior wall. I have used Proflex around the front cap and other seams. However the caulk currently around the seals does not look the same as the other caulk. Thanks.

At this point I'd be advising you to contact the mfr. I'm not familiar with slide seals mounted into a track.

If you just want to redo it, use Dicor.

OK, after a little more research and inspection it appears that the bulb and wiper slide into a track mounted to the wall of the camper. It looks to me that the caulk is intended fto seal the track and that some of the excess caulk was attached to the bulb and from flexing the caulk is separating from the bulb. If that is correct than my guess would be that not caulking is needed unless the tracks not sealed. Would that be correct?

All of the "bulbs" around my slide openings came from the factory like this. It sure looks as if it is caulk and not a glue or cement. Now You got my wondering how others are sealed to their walls.

I wouldn't recommend glue of any kind. If you ever need to replace a worn or damaged slide seal, any added cr*p is going to make it very difficult to get off. Then there's all the glue residue.

I recently replaced mine, and they pull off easily and cleanly, and no signs of water intrusion anywhere.

As already mentioned, caulk is not the solution here. Looks like you need "Rubber to Fiberglass" cement. I would try cement used on rubber bicycle inner tubes or a rubber gasket cement.

As for posting the OP's picture, it looks like that's another way to get pics posted on here.

Just for kicks, I grabbed the URL from his profile pic and posted in the thread, and it works. The url shows that the photo is the 'property' (hosted by) the forum. Interesting.. didn't know that was possible.

Caulk would do a very poor job of that.

OK.. I think you're pointing to the bulb, and your slide is on the left. The bulb should be securely glued to the side of the coach and no water should ever get in there. Honestly, I don't see why that was caulked, nor have I ever seen that. That said, Dicor is what's normally recommended.

Did a previous owner do that?

Trying to post a picture. Hope it works. But on the wall fo the camper were the slide seal is mounted mine have all been caulked between the wall and the rubber seal and some areas are starting to pull away from the rubber.
