Sliding Fifth wheel hitch

I have a 2009 Ram 2500 short box,and just bought a 2016 RD34 Shasta made by Forest River. I had a Pop Rv5 10" extension on my NuWa Snowbird and it worked fine, but will not work with the Shasta. The Shasta has a Lippert model 1621SHD hitch on it which lays alot flatter than the one on the Snowbird. I put the extension on but the Lippert hitch would hit tailgate and side rails. This leaves me thinking,I need a sliding fifth. I been thinking about getting a Curt model C16521, I know there are better models out there, but this is the price range i can afford. Anyone have any oppinions on this hitch. Hitting the cab of the pickup with the camper isn't good, have done that and not cheap to fix either!!

Just went out and did some measuring,I can lower pin box 2" and raise hitch 1" and 3" gain by the extension should clear the tailgate and side rails. Hope it works and thanks for the input. Spending $700 on a hitch and not work would be a disappointment.

I have a sliding hitch and it keeps the front cap from hitting the cab, but does nothing to prevent my pin box from hitting the side rails or tailgate. I can't imagine any slider that would solve your problem. Seems like you need to raise the hitch or lower the pin box.
