Spring Hanger

Last fall as I was doing a standard PM of our fifth wheel prior to heading back south, I noticed that one of the spring hangers had completely cracked/separated on one side of the hanger...had we gone back on the road with it in that condition, it would have completely separated and we would have been in a terrible mess. Fortunately, we were able to find a local person to come to the campground and do a weld job to get us back home where we had the hanger replaced. If you do not already include spring hangers on your PM check list, you might want to think about including it.

We have never gotten close to our weight limit...just looks like a very inadequate bracket.

We have had the fifth wheel for six years...not sure when the crack/break began...just glad we discovered the problem while we were stationary!
