You've got plenty of payload and motor with the 4.10 rear end gear.

If you are not commercially towing every week or month, you've got it made.

Let that engine rev when it needs to and don't be shy with your right foot in fear of breaking something, such as high RPM will blow the motor. This is why gas motors get a bad rap...very very few actually use a gas engines available power!

DW and I pick up our new Cougar Half Ton 30 RLS on the 14th. We have a 2016 F-250 crew with the 6.2L. We are upgrading from a TT. I asked the very same question on this Forum. Everyone said I'd be fine.

I pull a 303 with an F250 6.2L. You wonโ€™t win any drag races, but youโ€™ll pass people on the interstate and be able to at least run with the semis.

No responses yet so I'll throw my input here. Not the same unit but very similar tow vehicle. Look at my signature- gas engine like yours.

Recently went from carrying a very heavy truck camper to pulling a short 5th wheel.

Our new-to-us 5th is 7000# empty, so that would be a ton less than a GD 303. We are in the New Hampshire White Mountains and while the truck doesn't pull like a diesel, it doesn't struggle. It gets about 9 or so mpg in our "hills". The 6 speed trans is a big improvement over the older 4 speed.

On the flats to rolling terrain you should be good. Hopefully others will add their input. But the diesel folks might have different opinions.
