So after picking up my new to me 2013 Ford f350, I've spent a month pouring through every bit of info I could find on fifth wheel hitches. I decided to go with the Andersen Ultimate aluminum hitch. On reason is the ease of lifting it into the bed of the truck. With my previous hitch, I had to call my son and have him come over and help me lift it in and out of the trunk. I know I'll be happy with it, just anxious to get out camping again.

Now that's an interesting idea. I plan on buying a B&W RVK3600 and those are heavy beasts. That would really simplify removal for me.

Another who just hangs it from the pin.

Not sure how I could spend a month researching 5th wheel hitches though.

My Curt hitch is steel and is in two pieces to allow easier removal.

Sounds good and I hope it works for you. If after having it awhile it doesn't meet your expectations, take a look at the B&W Companion. Definitely not a light weight, but it comes out in two pieces. Here's hoping all goes well.
