Wheel Capacities

Some new toy haulers in our area already come with G rated Sailuns (Fuzions, Raptors). Some still come with E rated "whatevers".

How likely is it that the wheels on some of these toy haulers with E rated tires are capable of G rated 110 psi pressures? The toy hauler I'm leaning toward has the 7,000 axle setup but I can't even remember the brand of tire it had. It certainly wasn't Westlakes and I don't see any TowMax tires anymore. Not a name brand tire I know.

Buying 6 new G rated tires is tough enough. Buying 6 new G rated tires plus 6 new wheels to handle them is too much.

Is the capacity stamped on the outside of the wheel or does the tire have to be removed from the wheel?

I called Brad today and left him a voicemail. He's the rep for FR Vengeance toy haulers. That's the one I'm particularly interested in.

Hopefully I'll hear back the first of next week. Thanks all.

If you hit up any of the RV shows many have a manufacturer rep that can be a good place to start. Dealer should be able to find out that information too, just requires them to contact the manufacturer rep.

Regan was right; Trust, but verify.

FWIW our 2010 Fuzion came with 16" E-rated tires and 7,000 lb. axles. The wheels on it were rated for 110 psi so we were good to go with the G-rated tires we put on it. The wheel rating was stamped on the backside of the wheel so it could have been seen if you crawled under the trailer with the wheel in the right orientation. No need to remove the tire from the wheel.

Usually stamped on the inside of the wheel so the tire needs to be removed.
