Where to connect brake break away cable on Patriot Hitch

I just had a B & W Patriot hitch installed yesterday. It is replacing a R & W little rocker hitch.

I used a Carabiner to connect my break away cable to multiple holes in the little rocker. The Patriot has no holes anywhere in it.

For those of you that have the B & W Patriot where do you connect the break away cable?

LOL...bed can come of about like the hitch can come off or the bumper can come off.
A thread like this was on another brand rv forum. Everyone decided to hook it where it was the easiest for them. Works fine

OP Here

Why shouldn't you hook to the hitch?

Hitch can come loose, hook to bed as many have a "D" hook by the tailgate.

OK, attach the breakaway cable to something that won’t breakaway...isn’t helping pull the load, isn’t near something helping to pull the load.

In the bed of the truck? Why not the bumper, or the bumber could pull off also?

It is almost impossible for a hitch to carry away, but IF IT SHOULD, hook the breakaway to something in the bed of the truck.

I hook mine on a tie down just inside rear bed corner. I never hook to hitch.

Theoritically it's best to have the break away connected to the truck not the hitch. I got another cable and looped it through a stake hole and connected to the other cable with a carabiner. Easy to reach and connect too.
