Fresh water storage

Being a new full-timer in our FW I am learning ways to park the FW for long periods of time (1-2 months) and be fairly self-sufficient. So I want to park in a remote area. I have the FW all set up, stabilized, etc. Now a week or two later, I need fresh water. How are you full-timers replenishing your fresh water? Surely you are not, hooking your rig back up and taking it somewhere for water and then returning only to setup all over again.

I have a 75 gallon water bladder for replenishing my fresh water when out boondocking. I transfer the water from the bladder to my trailer with a spare rv water pump. It works great and the bladder folds up to save space.

That is what a couple of my boondocking friends do. I don't think they have bladders quite that large though. They both have Jeeps as toads and they can't handle the weight a pick up can.

When I first started boondocking for longer stays I used a fiftyfive gallon plastic barrel, but it takes up too much space for me.

Jerry cans (plastic type) are your friends. You can purchase them at many grocery stores and they usually come with one free fill. After that, take them to a local gas station and ask if you can fill them.

Get a small electric pump to move the water from them to the fresh water tank.
