2002 National Dolphin - Generator Problem

Hello,

I have a 2002 National Dolphin with a Generac 009592-5 generator.

Sometimes the generator runs, but it does not power the RV. For example, this evening we hit a pothole and the electrical (that is controlled by the generator) shut down, but the generator continues to run.

I tried the obvious:
- Resetting the breakers inside the coach
- unplugging and re-plugging the 50 amp plug
- Resetting the breakers on the generator and then restarting

One odd observation I have made is that when the generator is operating without any faults, there is an green LED light on a circuit board on the generator that is lit. Right now (with the generator not powering the RV) the LED of off.

Does anyone know what that LED is supposed to tell me?

The manual for the Generac does not mention it, so I am assuming it was added later as part of the remote starting switch.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sincerely,
Richard

I would start by checking every connection on the generator and related wiring.
Make sure everything is clean and tight.
It sounds like something came loose when you hit the pothole.
Hopefully, it's only a loose wire/connection causing the problem.
